Head of Marketing

Permanent employee, Full-time · London / Remote

About us
Cronofy is the world's most powerful scheduling tool used by tens of thousands of businesses to support high performance teams and the complex scheduling requirements they have. It is also the best kept secret in scheduling. It’s time for that to change.

Our credibility comes from being the technology powering scheduling in hundreds of SaaS applications. Indeed, Godaddy, Personio all use Cronofy as a critical part of their service delivery.  We’ve now extended our product offer to allow business teams to access Cronofy’s scheduling from the applications they’re already using with the Scheduler.

We excel where performance is crucial and scheduling is complex. Multiple people, timezones and constraints are all capabilities that customers in recruiting, coaching and healthcare value highly. We deliver immediate value by integrating scheduling tools into the tools people are already using, acting as a co-pilot to allow them to focus on performing better at their roles.

The vision for Cronofy is a powering technology layer that people can access from the applications that they are already using. It is often accessed through a browser extension whilst using another site or app, or automations are configured and then trigger automatically.

This change of customer focus has precipitated a full positioning and brand reset. This process is underway but we need someone to take ownership and lead this crucial function of the business going forward.

The role
Working as a peer with the Head of Sales and closely with the CEO, also Head of Product, to drive go-to-market for Cronofy. You will take the lead on brand and positioning and ensure consistency across all comms, as well as delivering high quality product and sales leads.

There is an existing team of two (demand gen. lead and content marketer) supported by freelancers (paid marketing and design). You will be responsible for growing and developing the the team around the needs of the individuals and the company.
Leads are the life blood of a high growth company and that will of course be a key focus for you and your team. However as a financially independent company, we don’t have to hit arbitrary numbers to suit investors.

We have the freedom to strike a balance between short-term revenue delivery and further horizon strategic projects like SEO and partnership building. You will be developing and leading a series of initiatives to delivery sustainable growth to the company.

We grow from our own cashflow so budget is something that we have to think carefully about, however that doesn’t mean that there is any lack of ambition. Incrementalism is alluring and reassuring but we’re fully aware that transformational change rarely comes from an incremental approach.
This is a new role that represents a rare opportunity to take a world class product and get it into the hands of the millions of people who care about performance. You will be playing a pivotal role in ensuring Cronofy is no longer a secret.

You and your approach
We would expect you to have at least two years experience leading or as a senior member of a high performing marketing team for a B2B SaaS company. You will be able to provide evidence of your impact that will give us confidence in your ability to deliver a strong GTM strategy and hands on execution. Be prepared to talk about frameworks and methods that enabled you to scale your efforts across the team.

You will be fluent with data but it won’t rule decision making. You’ll be comfortable making decisions based on sufficient information, evaluating outcomes and iterating.

You will be organised and adept at creating the frameworks to support the success of your team. We’re not process heavy at Cronofy. Instead we favour guidelines over rules to allow autonomous, capable people to make decisions about how best to deliver their work.

Attention to detail around messaging, brand and positioning will be crucial. We take great care to ensure that our technical delivery is both quick and of high quality. Our communications need to match and best represent that. In many ways this is the biggest short-term impact we expect you to have.

How we work
Our principles guide how we approach every day. New members of the team are often surprised how truly we do this.

We work hard but insist that everyone considers the balance between work and their life and responsibilities outside. We are direct in our dealings with each other. We continuously work to build mutual trust so that we can give each other feedback without fear of it being taken personally.

We can support a predominantly remote, office-based, or hybrid working model. We do really value face-to-face time and, where circumstances allow, encourage teams to spend regular time together at suitable locations. It would be most beneficial if you were based in, or within a reasonably commutable distance to, London.

What we offer
  • Basic salary (£90k-£120k) according to your experience
  • Pension scheme
  • 25 days days holiday in addition to flexible national holidays. National holidays are added to your holiday allowance and you're not required to take them on the corresponding day.
  • 5 personal development days per year to use for L&D, charitable causes or similar
  • Private healthcare plan.
  • Pleo card for work expenses, hardware, travel etc.
  • A flexible approach to working; remote, office or hybrid
  • A principles driven culture that provides the framework for autonomous decision making and personal development
